ICEA Announces “Green Building” Program for Architects and Industry Professionals in June 2013.

The International Cultural-Educational Association (ICEA) in partnership with the National Ukrainian Architects Union (NUAU) under join project the “Art Ukrainian Connection” , has invited a group of Ukrainian builders, architects, owners of businesses and other industry professionals to participate in a program to be conducted in New York and Chicago during June 6 – 15, 2013.

The program includes attending presentations and meetings hosted by collaborating organizations, including the American Institute of Architects (AIA), the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) and U.S. Green Building Council (USGB).

Chicago and Illinois chapters will focus on:

• specific aspects of the green building industry

• collaboration and coordination between architects, engineers, designers, contractors, suppliers and local government 

• development of local regulations and policies to support integrated approaches to green building projects.

ICEA hosted Ukrainian municipal leaders in February 2013

The International Cultural-Educational Association (ICEA) in partnership with the Association of Ukrainian Cities (www.auc.org.ua/en ) hosted a group of municipal leaders from the city of Odessa, who participated in a program conducted in cities San Francisco and Long Beach, California in February 18 – 24, 2013. 

The program provided presentations and meetings hosted by collaborating organizations, including the San Francisco and Long Beach Mayor’s offices, local Ukrainian community, meeting with Ukrainian General Consul in San Francisco, which provided opportunities to learn about the innovations in American municipal systems, structure of public services, and budget planning in American cities.

The objectives of our program were to introduce members of the Ukrainian delegation to:
American municipal systems and municipal facilities; such as:
Municipal Budget structure,
Organization of City Administrator’s office,
Organization of city and county governments,
Fire and Police Departments,
Public safety system and 311 call customer service center,
Long Beach seaport operations,
San Francisco Public Library
Sister Cities International programs,
City tours of architectural, cultural and historical heritage sites
Initiatives to develop tourism.

ICEA hosted Beauty Industry Program in June 2012

ICEA (Chicago, IL, USA) hosted an educational program-seminar “Beauty Industry in USA – business and marketing aspects”. This program was designed for business owners and managers of beauty studios, beauty supply traders and tourism professionals in Ukraine.

The program took place in New York, NY and Chicago, Il from June 17 – June 25, 2012. Participating members learned about the latest products of the most prominent beauty firms in New York and established business relationships. Visiting the “HBA Global Expo & Conference” in New York was the main event of this program (June 9-11, 2012).

Program participants visited famous beauty salons, cosmetology schools, tourism businesses and received information about possible professional exchange with Chicago Nail Manufacturers Council, which is part of American Association of Beauty Salons.

ICEA plans a program for prospective International students in July 2013

The International Cultural-Educational Association (ICEA) announces a program for:
prospective students and their parents, young professionals who wish to improve their qualifications, representatives of educational institutions, administrators of private schools, and managers of educational businesses.

The program is planned for July 21st through 30th , 2013, and will involve visiting the following locations consecutively:
New York City,
Boston, Massachusetts, and
Chicago, Illinois.


Participants in the program will be familiarized with:
conditions and procedures for admission and accommodation of foreign students in American educational institutions, useful information about professional organizations, and organizations who work with foreign students. 

The program will include visiting the following educational institutions:
Columbia University in New York City,
Boston and Harvard Universities, in Massachusetts,
University of Chicago and Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University in Illinois.

Participants will learn about:
Necessary preparations for studying in the United States, including language training and entrance tests, opportunities and requirements for post-graduate education, opportunities for professional advancement through specialty training, and American history and culture.

ICEA hosted Rockford (Illinois, USA) and Brovary (Kiev, Ukraine) Sister Cities Program in May 2012

The International Cultural-Educational Association (ICEA) in partnership with the Association of Ukrainian Cities (www.auc.org.ua/en) hosted a group of municipal leaders and business owners, from the city of Brovary (Kiev region) participated in a program conducted in the Chicago area and Rockford, Illinois and New York during May 12 –19, 2012.

The program provided presentations and meetings hosted by collaborating organizations, including the Mayor’s office, Rockford College and Sister City Committee, which provided opportunities to network and develop new business relationships.

The objectives of our program were to introduce members of the Ukrainian delegation to recreational facilities and educational institutions for young people and new initiatives in the Sister Cities International Program.

This group was interested in revitalizing the long standing but dormant relationship between Brovary and Rockford as sister cities. They also discussed about a cultural exchange program between the two communities. Members of Ukrainian delegation are Mayor of Brovary city, Kiev region – Igor Sapozhko, his wife Maryna Sapozhko and doghter Diana;
Brovary city councilman – Andrii Krat and Igor Troshchenko, his wife Olga Troshchenko and son Vyacheslav.

We are very grateful to the Rockford community leaders for meeting with the delegation from the Brovary, Ukraine and arranging presentations and tours.
