A group of Ukrainian architects had an exciting program visiting four cities in the United States this late April and early May: New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Las Vegas. And when they got to San Francisco they thought they found paradise.
Admiring a vanguard mix of architectural styles, the group was amazed at how well the cities have preserved and reconstructed buildings damaged by the earth quakes. Fresh air from the ocean mixed in with ever green trees filled their lungs with life giving oxygen and their hearts with ideas.
They attended the AIA (American Institute of Architects) conference and examined samples of building materials. They met with their colleagues at the International Committee reception and discussed future collaborative projects.
